Having seen pictures before of how good the seat looked mounted on a bike, I pulled the trigger and ordered one of my own.

I have the seat since 4 days now, and have ridden 150km with it.I did not have the chance to do a decently long trip, so this review deals with my first impressions.

The seat arrived well-packed in a big box.
In real life, it looks better than expected. The level of workmanship is very high, the "new&improved" chrome rim fasteners (bolts instead of screws) make even the underside of the seat look good.
The seating position changes a bit when you install this (for the better), I have the feeling I'm sitting more to the front of the bike now. My pillion loves the extra cushioning and the bigger knee angle the seat provides.

A must have to complete a classic look!

After being unable to find a distributor in the USA I thought I would never be able to get one and would have to stick with a Corbin. However I decided to order from across the pond for the first time. Three days past and my seat arrived!! Faster than when I order from in America!

Top quality seat, gives the retro look, I have had loads of comments about the seat and I put them all on to you guys!

Thanks alot for the truly excellent service!

The stock seat on my 2007 T100 did not deserve to be original equipment on this great machine. It looked so cheap it was laughable yet was so painful you stopped laughing in short order. Ouch! It needed immediate replacement!

This beautiful saddle along with a much needed chrome fender bracket and chrome grab rail—right from the 70s—really completed the authentic look I was after when I fell in love with my T100. Now the bike constantly fools older riders who mistake it for the original. This is a nice modern rendering of the original high quality seat the marque came with back in the day. Perfect!

The comfort is vastly improved from front to back so that you are able to shift around on longer rides and avoid "bed sores." I find that with new Thruxton bars and optional one inch riser adaptors this seat can manage 200 miles without any difficulty. It is just a little bit higher than stock and much narrower in the nose. Both changes offer added leg comfort over stock.

At my six foot height with 34" inseam the most comfortable position at 80mph is to "ride the nose" up close to the tank. With right boot covering the brake lever and the left boot riding on its toe I can then balance very nicely against the wind without any effort. It is a lot like "flying." Quite comfy. Upright and using the wind for support.

The only negative is that as there is no hump to the shape the rider is not very secure. Either when speed-balling or when hustling in a drag race.

On my last outing as I roosted along at 80mph and hit some wicked bumps I was all too grateful for what good suspension geometry the bike had deep in its design. Thank you Triumph. With no damage done I now have the opportunity to think about the improvements needed considering our roads are falling apart…

Thus I am considering the purchase of one more seat—for faster road trips and for drag racing. I conclude that this current seat is the ONE that compliments the bike—don't get me wrong. And it will be the one on display when I am showing the bike at the local hot dog stand and trying to fool the old guys as to its DOM…

However a specialty seat even if unlovely, might be called for when really pushing one's luck and wringing out serious speed. Something with a big hump in it.

These Hinckleys have decent urge to them once they are properly tuned. There is significantly higher performance available then the old originals I rode back in the 60s and 70s. IF you modify the bike even slightly…

So in conclusion overall I rate this a total success as a seat. Very fine detail in the basket weave. A great all-rounder. I never get tired of just looking at it for pleasure.

You simply MUST have one if you are in love with the retro look of your T100.

Should Have Come Stock This Way

After initialy using the standard "seat" I then purchased a Corbin seat. I was very happy with the comfort and although it didn't look great and the real leather was a pain I was happy with it.

Then I saw these Classic beauties! The Corbin is now in a plastic bag leaning against the garage wall and my DS002 takes pride of place! Excellent buy, I am so glad we have someone in the UK doing quality parts for the New Bonnys!

Awesome seat, looks great and is super comfy!

A handsome, comfortable seat with a vintage look exactly right for the Bonneville. Better than stock in all respects, especially comfort.

  12. Jean-Pierre G. (verified owner)

Aucun regret concernant mon achat. Rien à voir avec la selle d'origine pour confort, ce n'est pas du luxe, et le look change radicalement .

  13. Phillip R. (verified owner)

Package arrived in Australia just one week after ordering. Fitted to the Bonny in 20 minutes. Great quality and much more comfortable than the OEM seat. Rode 200 km yesterday and the seat makes a huge difference. Great work.

    Very nice and comfortable Seat…

  15. Daniel M. (verified owner)

This is a great seat! It's way more confortable than the stock seat and it gives the bike the early 70's look I was looking for.
    Great buy!

I bought the hinkley seat for my 2013 triumph scrambler it has made a great improvment to the looks and comfort the only problem it dosent fit this years scrambler that well as i hade to move some of the electric components to make the seat fit properly other wise great.

  17. Erich K. (verified owner)

I love the fit, finish, and ride of this seat. MUCH BETTER than stock, and my tailbone thanks you! Also appreciate the nod to the late 60s bike in this seat. All that' I'm missing are the retro cans, which I may also be contacting you about someday soon!

  18. Paul G. (verified owner)

I installed this seat on my 2007 Bonneville T100. The seat looks amazing on my bike and the silver logo and piping compliment the silver accent stripes on the tank perfectly, as well as the chrome on the rest of the bike. The basket weave seat top is really cool too! The installation process was simple and only took about 20 – 25 minutes to complete. A nice feature is that the mounting hardware is adjustable for a perfect fit. My only complaint, and it's a minor one, is that the seating position is difficult to change when you're riding due to the curve of the seat – it makes you to sit a little closer to the tank than I prefer – but you get used to it after a while. Overall comfort is definitely better than the stock seat, and if you use cafe bars I don't think the seating position will be an issue. Highly recommended, good price and fast shipping to Virginia, US.

fast delivery, no need for special quote even if I live in Reunion Island (ever heard about it?). 15' installation. And finally a timeless classic look, as if it had always been on the bike. Good you've listened to customers for silver logo.

I've had the standard OE seat and the Triumph single seat and rack. This seat beats them both for comfort. Love the style too – thanks, very pleased with my purchase.

Great looking. No problem to fit. Somewhat higher than stock, welcomed by my knees. More comfortable than stock.

  22. Robert T. (verified owner)

Stock seat is like sitting on a wood plank. The $300 "gel" seat is not any better. This seat is great and has a really cool vintage look. I can finally take those 100 mile long rides in comfort. Oh, and chicks dig it.

  23. Eric J. (verified owner)

This looks so much better than the skinny original, gives the authentic look, and is much more comfortable. The finish is lovely too. Delivered to my door within 18hrs

  24. adrian e. (verified owner)

very very pleased, seat arrived within 24 hours of ordering, fitted within minutes and looks good on the bike and the best bit of all its very very comfortable much better than the standard seat,

  25. Eric (verified owner)

This seat is much firmer and absorbs road shocks much better than my old seat which admittedly was nearly nine years old. It fits more positively as the hooks are put under tension to line up the seat bolts. My only small gripe is that there is a small gap between the seat and the fuel tank. This probably aids drainage in heavy rain and not many people would even notice it.

  26. Paul S. (verified owner)

Very fast service – ordered on Monday and was here by Friday and I live in Australia. More comfortable than the original and easy to fit. I like the style as it suits the bike better.

  27. Mark (verified owner)

A quality piece of kit. A touch pricey, but you get what you pay for. Looks way better than the standard seat on my '12 Bonneville and more comfy, too.

  30. Richard C. (verified owner)

The Seat it self is fantastic. The seat is very comfortable and after 2 hours ride, it is hands down way better than the stock seat.
Service and sale is excellent. The Chrome was damaged during shipping, and Sales person sent out replacement part right away.
Will come back and shop again. 100%.

I love this seat on mt 110th Anniversary Bonnie, ordered it after seeing a photo of it on the same model posted by an owner in Perth in August, it's also much more comfortable than the factory ironing board for me. Many thanks, Paul

Amazing delivery speed! Very nice seat. Excellent quality. Triumph should put this seat on the T100, not the covered board of a seat that they offer on the $10,000 bike.

I had prior to placing my order, emailed and asked if the seat would fit my 2014 Bonneville. I was told yes it would. But, when it arrived the seat didn't fit my Bonneville properly. The area of the front 'tongue' wasn't the proper shape which made it very difficult to mount the seat, causing some of the end of the tongue to break off. Additionally, the distance from that front attachment 'tongue' to where the rear brackets fit against the rear frame mount holes was incorrect. As supplied, it was a half inch too short. Turning the brackets around, it was then a half inch too long. I bought two half inch spacers and used the seat that way. I'm hoping the seat will stay out.

This seat is a huge upgrade over stock. Looks better and feels a whole lot better…just ask my caboose!! (don't actually ask)

I had difficulty replacing one of the screws. I think that the female threads were stripped.
After that the seat looks great and the three screws on the brackets are holding well. The seat looks great.

I recently bought a 2013 T100 Bonneville with stock seat. Having ridden a Suzuki VStrom for several years I started to find the Bonneville stock seat a bit cramped to the point I considered changing the bike. I am 180 cm tall. I attended a Triumph ride recently and the conversation came around about the seat and I was introduced to a rider who had bought one of your seats. I sat on his bike and immediately felt the difference the extra millimeters made. I tried to get a local quote to reshape my current seat thinking I would save on postage etc but wasn’t having much success and prices were actually mostly more expensive in this cafe racer era!
I found the ordering of my new seat straight forward, I got the shape and colour I wanted and I believe it was on my bike here in Australia within 8 days of ordering it and it’s a lovely looking seat which has enhanced the look of my bike immediately. So far I have only ridden it once on an hour of a journey (return). Initially I think it is firmer than my older seat which I suppose is normal but hope it softens up in time.
Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and intend keeping the Bonneville. :+1:

Excellent service from Burton Bike Bits. The seat is very comfortable and transforms the look of the bike. The raised height improves the riding position greatly for me. My only critisism is of the brackets that secure the seat to the frame at the rear end. These required a spacer under them to align them to the frame and seem poor quality compared to the rest of the seat.

  54. Andrew E. (verified owner)

Fits perfectly, and is much more comfortable than the original seat
