    The side stand I ordered arrived promptly by mail to Sweden. To fit it I had to file the holes in the stand to align with the ones in the frame that appear to be original. Having done that the bike parks all right, possibly a bit too upright. I hope I have bought a stand that does not break in use. Erik Yngvesson Sweden

    I have tried a couple of generic "one size fits all" side stands, commonly available on Ebay, and was disappointed with the results. They were too short causing the bike to lean over so much that I thought it was going to collapse, and, when folded, they disappeared behind the silencer so far that the only way to extend it was to bend down and use one hand to pull it out whilst trying to stop the bike falling over with the other! Great when the exhaust is red hot!
    I finally found this side stand for sale from Burton Bike Bits after looking for one for a long time, and, although it is five times more expensive than the Ebay items, It fits perfectly and works well, just like the original. I would advise anyone fitting it to buy the specially waisted original spec bolts and nuts as this makes fitting so much easier, they are available from Draganfly Motorcycles ( part Nos. 42-4767 bolt x2 and 42-4797 nut x2 £4.16 + p&p) http://www.draganfly.co.uk Perhaps Burtons might consider selling these as well?
    As far as I know, Burtons are the only people in the world to have this stand on sale, and I would recommend it highly to anyone thinking of buying it.

    I purchased a new side stand for my bsa a10 and I am very impressed with the quality of it.When it is supporting an expensive motorcycle I don’t
    believe buying a cheap import makes sense.

    All seems good quality but should come with mounting bolts with the reduced head size or at least the option to order them.

    Well packed, speedy delivery, and easily fitted. The solid and secure side stand has transformed the manoeuvrability of my BSA in my crowded garage.

    Doing rebuild, it seems nice and sturdy, and parks well clear of the frame. Not used yet but i cant foresee any problems. Is it expensive ? Probably not in the long run, a £30 universal bit of trash wouldnt last 5 minutes. And this stand looks good.
